Used to replace a Bunn home brewer I bought in 1979.
I had an Bunn Coffee Maker that kept a reservoir of water pre-heated at 200 degrees fahrenheit. It made great coffee, brewed the pot in 3 minutes and lasted 37 years before In needed to replace it. I bought another Bunn model that didn't have the preheated reservoir, as such, but did heat all the water in a batch before releasing it at 200 degrees; the industry recommended brewing temperature. This took about 10 minutes to brew a pot. The coffee was good, but the wait was hard. And the pre-heating stage was very noisy. The idea behind this purchase was not to use the small amount of electric current keeping the water warm waiting for the next brew cycle. Unfortunately that brewer failed after a year and Bunn recalled the model. They replaced it under warranty with the Model NHS-B which was a style upgrade to the model I bought in 1977. It had some worthwhile improvements aside from appearance. 1 - it allowed you to pour water into the hopper using the pot, rather than a separate pitcher, as the old machine would start brewing while you were pouring water in. The new design would hold up to 50 ounces of water in a buffer area. To start the brewing, you rotate a cover over the fill screen and this releases the water into the main tank forcing the 200 degree water through the spray head, presumably after you placed the pot over the warming pad. 2 - you can now pre-moisten the grounds by rotating the cover to re-expose the fill screen, thus shutting off the flow of hot water for minute and then releasing the rest of the water after the grounds have been conditioned somewhat. This procedure enhances the flavor and strengthens the brew, I expect this model NSH-B to be with me until I'm buried.

I am returning my Bunn Velocity brew com
This is an attractive brew system, but you indicate to make a min. 4 cup pot, equal to 20 ounces of water. That would equal 5 oz. per cup. No way. I measured 20 oz. separately and poured into your carafe-too much water. I used rounded scoops of Gevalia-coffee too weak, like tea. I will not double my scoops to get a good cup of not really hot coffee, as that will increase my cost for java. Make sense? How about an explanation on the 4 cups=20 oz???
